Shelter Island

Thirty of our most accomplished U.S. singers ventured to Shelter Island, New York, a small island tucked between the Hamptons and the North Fork of Long Island, for a retreat and concert. Reachable only by ferry, Shelter Island is surrounded by beautiful beaches and includes a 2000-acre coastal preserve.
Our repertoire featured the music of living composers including Sarah Rimkus, Marek Raczynski, Paul Mealor, and Eric Whitacre, along with Michael Gilbertson's 2019 composition Migration. The residency concluded with a concert in the beautiful and historic Old Whalers’ Church in Sag Harbor.
