Coro Mundi is an exciting international choir that draws its name from its members--highly skilled and passionate singers from around the globe who travel annually to rehearse and perform together. Comprised of both committed professionals and exceptional amateurs, we are a choir of forty singers bound together by a deep love of choral music.
Founded originally as the Orvieto Festival Choir, our first gathering was in Orvieto, Italy with singers who came from Milan, London, Zurich, Sydney, and throughout the United States, including San Francisco, Seattle, Milwaukee, Salt Lake City, Boston, New York and Philadelphia. Over a span of nine days we presented concerts to enthusiastic audiences in the historic Duomo di Orvieto, in Acquapendente, and at the Preggio Music Festival.
During the remainder of the year, our members sing in ensembles such as the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Master Voices of New York City, the Chicago Chorale, the Bel Canto Chorus of Milwaukee, the New London Singers, St. George’s Choral Society, Choral Chameleon and the St. Thomas Choir of Men and Boys.
We perform a wide range of choral repertoire, from well-loved classics by Mozart and Rachmaninoff to new works by leading contemporary composers such as Alex Berko, Paul Mealor, Gabriel Jackson, and Ä’riks Ešenvalds. Our music’s common thread is the potential to open hearts and inspire connection, linking Coro Mundi with our audiences and with one another.
